About Andover Fabrics
Andover Fabrics is a century-old, family-owned company that distributes quilting fabric to 2,000 quilt stores. Shops buy its fabric by the yard or by the bolt. Andover also sells designs from its sister company, Makower UK, in the US.

The Challenge
Andover ran on Microsoft Dynamics SL, a system that was being sunset, and much of its data was entered by hand. Loading 500 new SKUs took a month, and the team did it five times a year.
Wholesale customers had to call to place orders. They could not see live stock levels or back-order status, which quilters rely on when they plan complex projects. Customer complaints were growing.
Andover needed a cloud ERP that automated the manual work and fed an online store its B2B customers could buy from directly.
Each batch of 500 new SKUs took a month to load, five times a year.
B2B customers had to call Andover to place an order.
Buyers could not see real-time stock levels or back-order status.
Customers found the old online store inconvenient, and complaints grew.
The Solution
Adam Weinstein, Andover's president, compared several cloud options and chose Acumatica Distribution Edition for the company's next stage of growth. It covered Andover's workflows end to end, and its open API let third-party applications connect to it.
Each stock item in Acumatica holds the product attributes the website needs. A connector carries those attributes and inventory levels from Acumatica to the website. Loading new fabric to the catalog and website takes hours instead of days.
The BigCommerce B2B storefront was adapted to Andover's units of measure, so shops order by the yard or by the bolt. Wholesale customers place orders online. Booked revenue rose 86% in the first four months after the integrated site launched.
Stock data flows from Acumatica to the storefront. Buyers can search by color, designer or pattern and check what is available. Customers see yardage availability in real time.
The attributes on Acumatica stock items feed the storefront, which turns them into pages a customer can order from. Andover can send a customer its whole catalog as one shoppable page.
Andover now tracks KPIs it did not have before. When Makower UK asked how much of its design range Andover had sold in the US, a sales-by-item report answered it, and a line-by-line check confirmed the figure. US sales of Makower UK designs grew 99.6% from 2024 to 2025.
The Result
Andover reports record revenue and record book-ahead sales since it moved to Acumatica and connected BigCommerce. Its president describes the online store, once one of its greatest weaknesses, as one of its biggest strengths.
